Which seasonings are best to use to make things REALLY tasty? ~ Suzanne Seitz
Suzanne, your question is the basis for countless cookbooks, classes and research studies. The seasonings that will help give your food great taste all need to be of goof quality. They include:
Garlic, ginger, onions, citrus zest, FRESH herbs (pasley, rosemary, sage, thyme, tarragon, basil etc) extra vrigin olive oil, flavored vinegars, spices, cold pressed nut oils, soy sauce, hot sauce, worcestershire sauce….and the list goes on and on and on.
A good simple rule is to keep it simple and make sure to season well with salt. Many times when you feel like a dish is lacking in “umph” it’s because you don’t have enough salt. Remember, salt brings out the flavor in food. Good luck!
